Neuroses

I think everyone who reads this site knows me well enough to know that I am a freaking disaster. However, I'm not as bad as these people.

I will say that I always touch my zipper to make sure I zipped up my pants as I'm leaving the bathroom, I like to have my wallet in my left front pocket and my keys & phone in the right front, and I often walk down stairs with my feet at angle because I don't think the stairs are long enough for my feet and I'm afraid I'll trip and fall down them.

Anyone else got any good ones?

Dot Com!

This website says terrapintables is worth $1664.

This place says $1129

I have no idea how this sort of thing is calculated.

And Pat says its worth $2.

Budweiser bought out

Ah, beer and international trade makes for good news. The beer seems a lot like the car world, where mergers and takeovers have led to some pretty big partnerships. I figured I'd summarize thing's I've discovered.

So Anheuser-Busch has agreed to Belgium-owned InBev's takeover bid in what will be the largest cash purchase in history. The new company will surpass London-based SABMiller (originally founded in South Africa, hence the name) to be the number one brewer in the world, brewing 25% of all beers. It will also be the fourth-largest consumer product company in the world. The merger means that all Bud, Michelob, Beck's, Stella, Busch, and over 250 other brands will all be under one company.

The largest American brewery is now Pabst, even though they make most of their beers through MillerCoors (a joint venture between SABMiller and Molson). Apparently they are ramping up their marketing to try to capture those mad rednecks who will now protest Bud products since they are no longer American (which is a little funny since the company was started by a German who used a modern-day Czech recipe - was mostly responsible for demise of America's 150 breweries since 1975 a la Wal-Mart does to small stores).

Culture of Indifference?

The Bystander Effect

The video of the pedestrian accident is pretty chilling.

Something I think the article fails to address are the potential repercussions of offering assistance. Such repercussions should never excuse the indifference. However, if I help a child, am I going to be accused of inappropriately touching them? If I see someone injured, is moving them in any way going to make the injury worse? If I try and break up a fight at Bennigan's on Saint Patrick's day, am I going to be ejected from the premises?

Sign of the Apocalypse

Maybe, like most of the country, you're weathering some uncertain financial times. Then again, maybe you may have disposable income and nothing good to do with your time.

Age appropriate games

What's the problem with teenagers doing this? Elizabeth has been playing this for years.
