I should start a cult or something. My "one day we're dead, so spend your money, party, and bone whenever possible" philosophy has been vindicated by smart people. Of course, when said smart people are from the Columbia Business School, you start wondering what they know about living anyway. And when the photos that reinforce the story are of Ivana Trump and Cher, you start to think "I want nothing to do with this." But I like the idea of being right, and I like the idea of the media telling chicks to whore it up a little bit. I need all the help I can get.
Posted by Chris at June 22, 2006 03:27 PMThis was "your" philosiphy? Pretty much everyone on here lives that way.
Posted by: Nate at June 22, 2006 08:35 PMThey wish...it's been wedding after child after real job after golf game up in this bitch for a while. While I certainly won't stand above several of you in the partying category, and sure Mike, Pat, and Nate are probably deeper in debt on paper (home purchasing, but that translates to material wealth, and I gots none of that), at the very least I've done more random boning than the rest of you put together. Chumps.
I'm just fucking around. It rules that everyone is growing up into happy adults (I think John and I might be lagging behind a bit in one, if not both, of the "happy" and "adult" claims, with our varying degrees of inherent pessimism and reliance on Taco Bell, breakfast cereals, and various gummi animals for nourishment). And in regards to the boning, the trade-off is I can count meaningful relationships of mine with half the fingers on one of Homer Simpson's hands. But I've always preferred sampling the entire buffet to loading up on prime rib anyway. At least that's what I tell myself as I cry myself to sleep amidst a pile of empty vodka bottles.
Seriously, I think we're all on exactly the path we were hoping for, and that's awesome.

If you would like some debt, I can slide some your way - and don't worry, there is plenty of pessimism still lying around.
Posted by: Pat at June 23, 2006 08:52 AMI don't know why the bill collectors keep comin' round...I ain't gots no money...
Posted by: Nate at June 23, 2006 09:48 AMNate, I'm not falling for that shit. Your household takes in more money by St. Patty's Day then I see in a year - and I make more money now than I ever have.
