Feeling Old, Revisited

I was listening to the Chili Peppers on my computer yesterday, and I thought, what the hell, I'll make a playlist based on the original album. So I looked up Blood Sugar Sex Magik on Amazon to get the songs and their order, and saw that the release date was 1991. 15 years ago. So I decided to look up another two of my favorite albums- Ten and Nevermind. They were released in the same year. I'm fuckin' old.

It could be worse: Ricky's favorite album is the Top Gun soundtrack, so instead of feeling old he just feels gay.

But Top Gun has fighter jets and hot blondes!* If liking Top Gun is gay, then bring on the KY.

Ten is probably my favorite album, and yeah, it's friggin' old. I think CDs were a relatively new item back then, too, if that makes you feel any older.

*okay, it had that volleyball scene with Tom (proud parent of "TomKitten", in case you haven't been talking to Judy lately) all bare-chested, but it was just so girls would go see the movie with their straight, ultra-manly boyfriends.

Things you knew were coming, for $100, Alex. For $200.

Details magazine once called Top Gun "the gayest movie ever made" and "so homoerotic it was like a big camp joke." Read what Quentin Tarantino thinks here.

Oh, and, my first CD ever was the Judgement Night soundtrack, in 1994. My first tape ever was Slippery When Wet. Ricky's over there-ere.

And, though this sets me up for a world of hurt, here's a taste of Tony Scott's documentary:

"I didn't really have a vision of what to do, but in the end, it just became hunky bodies in the California sun, and it became a favorite with the women as well as the guys, especially the San Francisco guys."
