It's seems to be a mystery as to why they closed - the Improv is claiming it was from the noise from Ram's Head, which may be true, but the article says people from both venues were claiming they never heard of such complaints.
I'll assume that they got a very generous offer from someone who's interested in building yet another bar at PowerPlant. Although the Improv had a pretty sweet location, at least for the foot traffic becoming aware of the Improv, I'm sure a huge cash transfer is enough to get them to relocate. And it's not like drunk idiots decide to see a comedy show on a whim, so the Improv can do well elsewhere I guess.
