Alex's new school has a dress code. It pisses me off (it's discriminatory towards poor people, if you ask me, making them go buy extra clothes on top of their kids normal clothes), but what're ya gonna do. She's only in first grade, so what does she care about freedom of expression. Even if she did care, is it worth getting expelled over a dress code? Okay, maybe suspended a few times wouldn't be too bad. And what am I supposed to do as a parent, take the school district to court over it? It's not a battle I particularly feel like fighting.
