This team stinks

Got into a fantasy football league with some buddies from home and had the draft yesterday. There are 12 teams, and the lineup is 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 RB/WR flex, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF, 6 bench. The scoring is a bit different from what we play, the key being no points for completions or incompletions and no points for receptions. Anywho, rain delay had the number 1 pick and took Manning (peyton, not eli) and then I took Tomlinson...3 hours later, here's my team.

QB - Bulger, Plummer, Griese
RB - Tomlinson, Westbrook, Duckett, Stephen Davis, Davenport (no one got the "dumpoff pass" joke)
WR - Roy Williams, Michael Clayton, Rod Smith (of course), Toomer, Peerless Price (for you John)
TE - Wiggins
K - Vanderjagt
DEF - Baltimore

I wasn't entirely happy with how I did, having to guess who people would take as it snaked away from me since it was such a long time before it came back. Anyway, other highlights included some guy from Baltimore who had never played before pre-ranking his players since he couldn't make it. He got Matt Stover in the 4th round. Interesting side note: I believe Lamont went in the 4th round. I yelled out Lamont for heisman! but of course nobody got it.

Your thoughts?

I think you're okay, since talent should be so spread out with 12 teams. I don't like Bulger; the Rams have seemed on the verge of implosion for 2 years. The other QBs are, well, the suck, but what are you gonna do.

I think the WRs are alright: I would say you need that "one solid guy," especially with the flex option, but I say that about your team every year, and every year Rod Smith IS that guy.

Vanderjagt is probably the kicker to have, BAL may be the single defense to have this year. Also, I can't see a better RB duo in a 12-team league thatn LT/WBrook.

See if someone ( a moran) will take Toomer and Davis for a perennially forgotten producer, like Keenan Mccardell, Mushin Muhammed (though he is a Bear). Maybe look to get Reggie Wayne and hope Peyton recreates '04. Still, for a 12-team, I think your tight.

Of course, I hav enever finished better than like 9th, right? And what kind of dingus would set up a pre-rank that took a Baltimore player so high?

Peerless Price sucks. Otherwise, I'd say your team is alright considering the size of the league.

correction: stover was selected in the second round.

Stover?

You've gotta be kidding me

Wow, that is bad. Not your team, the Stover thing.

I think your team is pretty good. I think Bulger is a good QB to have myself, but I have to wonder - was Brett Favre already taken?

It's not a tumor.

Lamont will win it one of these days.

Favre was NOT taken when I got Bulger. The way the scoring system works, I projected Bulger to be a much higher scorer than Favre.
