I was at the game last night, so I didn't get a lot of stats -- but I seem to remember that Garrison had 4 fouls and 1-freaking-point.
So, is there a "shorter" 6'8" player in the country?
I HATE to badmouth somebody on a Maryland team - but seriously -- by your junior year you should have figured out how to go TO the rim instead of fading away on everything. If you are a 80+% freethrow shooter, you may want to create contact and get to the line - and perhaps get the opposing team's bigs in some foul trouble (like... oh... i don't know.... SEAN MAY!!).
He has the talent to be so much better...
Posted by Chad at February 28, 2005 10:05 AMRyan and I were there too. Late in the first half, me to Ryan:
"You know, Travis Garrison should pretend he's big."
He really was afraid of the rim all night - perhaps he is allergic to the orange paint.
Posted by: Chris at February 28, 2005 11:48 AMHe stinks. He is a 6'3" shooting guard trapped in a 6'8" PF's body.
Ibekwe, Garrison, Bowers - 7 points, 7 rebounds. Gist alone had better numbers. Remind me who the freshman is?
I said it to Chad at the game and I'll say it again - more McCray. And Mike Jones, but that is a given.

Maybe Garrison will leave early for the NBA. Frankly, I think his scholarship could be better used elsewhere.
Now - go out and drop in 43 on Virginia Tech and prove me wrong.
Posted by: Chad at February 28, 2005 12:25 PMI was tempted to try and find you guys at the game by starting a "Mike Jooooooones" chant, but they don't sell beer and Ryan is easily embarassed. Instead, I hope you heard me yalling "Heisman! Fucking Heisman!" as LaMont came out. Word.
Just watched the SportsCenter coverage...they were easy on us. Of course, they showed 15 seconds, but they didn't say we stunk it up for 35 minutes before showing up.
Posted by: Chris at February 28, 2005 12:35 PMOh you know Chad and I stood up and gave him the old L-Train pose when they introduced all those old players at halftime. I mentioned something about being up for Heisman.
Posted by: Pat at February 28, 2005 12:50 PMYeah, one of us should have bought this. I think we managed to confuse most of the old people there since after everytime Mike Jones did anything I would scream "WHO?" and Pat would scream "MIKE JONES!"
