Not that De La Soul is my favorite, but you can't beat the price.
Martin Scorsese films being shown at the AFI theatre in Silver Spring for the next month or so.
Posted by John at February 25, 2005 02:30 PMJohn, what the hell are you doing reading Pitchfork, the internet bastion of ignorant indie-rock elitism?
And, we are so going to an AFI Silver showing of Raging Bull - because you said you haven't seen it, which is a crime you have committed against yourself.
Posted by: Chris at February 25, 2005 03:26 PMI have no idea what Pitchfork is, I just followed a link. What the hell is Pitchfork doing with a blurb about De La Soul, then?
I am so there.

better yet, oatmeal cookies,
Y'all just rookies to me
slidin' up and down the court,
But I don't think you can D
Why try?
Maseo been gettin high
Since Luke was Luke Skywalker"
i couldn't help it
Posted by: John at February 25, 2005 04:30 PMPitchfork, in an effort to stay one step cooler than all of us, occasionally posts info/praise for a black artist. Because, to be honest, there aren't a lot of black people making indie rock. They throw praise on Talib Kweli, Mos Def, and the like, and place Madvillain in their top-ten for the year.
Have I given you a copy of the Madvillan disc? Anything Jay-Dee? He's awesome.
