Now it's mainstream

So the sports guy referenced my new favorite show. that sound you hear is john falling out of his chair.

Is that show any good? I want to think it wil be - the guy from Northern Exposure (one of my all-time favorites) is in it - but it looks forced, at least from the commercials.

i watched the first episode after football last weekend. it was...alright. it's not nearly as insulting to the intelligence as the commercials make it seem. and, of course, i wanted to know more about how the nerd (side note: he's a nerd. they even got most of the stereotypes: forgetful about appointments, uninterested in the hot chick, yet somehow they forgot to give him glasses) arrived at his predictions for where the serial rapist lived, especially since he used terms like probability, estimate, and probabilistic error. did he conduct a factor anaysis? a signal detection process? is he a bayesian? sigh, i suppose i'll have to wait for the behind the scenes on the dvds.

sorry, back from nerddom. as usual, the grumpy yet happy go lucky dad will no doubt be the most redeeming character on the show. and since it's on friday nights now, i may never see another episode.

"we could have a numbers problem this weekend that even Judd Hirsch and Rob Morrow couldn't solve."
Of course not? Why? Because neither of them are "the nerd." So what problem could they solve? Getting a moose into a taxi.

Whoa whoa whoa - factor analysis, signal detection, probability, bayesian?

I can not believe it is relegated to the 10 pm Friday night spot after 2 episodes!?!? I am shocked. Was Listen Up already booked?
