The split has created conflict as the players in A often mock B league players for their lack of skill.

why didn't he just write - boys still make fun of girls in hopes of getting together with them? isn't that the reason you boys still make fun of young women?

I think I can speak for a lot of the guys here when I say that we mock everyone. We are equal opportunity in our mockery. So when I mock Pat, does that mean I want to get together with him, or I am simply amusing myself? More importantly, why can't it be both?

We don't mock them because we want to get with them. We mock them because we know they don't want to get with us. By striking first, we avoid drowning our sorrows in alcohol, and instead celebrate our tiny victories by drinking.

Oh, it can be both, big boy.

perhaps when mocking other guys, as we shall call them, you are exerting a need to outshine, outdo other guys. not that you are any longer truly competing with them for any particular thing, but inherent in a male's psyche is the need to outdo other men in some way shape or form. perhaps if you feel that something is lacking you make up for it with mockery. =)
in other news, i think if you are mocking to try to get with other guys that is fine as well. i voted for kerry. i do not despise homosexuality. i just found the reference quite funny as it seemed to be written like "the boys make fun of the girls, just as they used to out on the playground", etc. obviously i inferred something in it that no one else did.
and i'm out.

oh shell shell, what a pandora's box you just opened...

"isn't that the reason you boys still make fun of young women?"

and girls (excuse me, "young women") don't make fun of us boys?

"perhaps when mocking other guys, as we shall call them, you are exerting a need to outshine, outdo other guys."

and what do you call it when girls (sorry, "young women") dress up in "cute" (whatever the hell that word means) capri pants, cardigan sweaters, and shoes no human should wear? maybe it's a need to outshine other girls, because it sure as hell ain't to impress guys! give me a girl in mesh shorts, a t-shirt, and a ponytail over a girl who dresses "cute" any day.

We're not subconciously, subtley, surreptitiously, slyly, smartly, sneakily, or any other s-adverb trying to outdo or outshine anyone. We show our friendship by talking shit to each other. That's all their is to it. See, if we were strangers in a bar playing darts or somehting, then talking shit would be a desire to outdo. Since we're all brothers, getting in someone's face is just our way of baking Rice Krispies Treats and holding each other while we cry our way through Steel Magnolias, or whatever the hell you women do to show friendship. We talk hardcore smack constantly, and, despite having known some of these dudes since elementary school and the rest for a few years, I can remember one fight between any of us. That's not the mark of guys that want to make each other look bad.

And for the record, Roy, I will take any girl any time. I believe this comes as a surprise to no one.
