You might notice this is coming to you at 10:45 in the morning. You might be thinking to yourself, damn, Chris is up early. And you'd be right, because that is early for me. But, dummies, I am not up early: I am up late.
School starts in a month, and I'll need to get up at 8:30ish every day. I started attempting to scale back my wake-up times, figuring eventually I would reach 9am, but after two days of trying to get up at 1 pm, smashing the alarm clock for daring to wake me up, and going back to sleep until after 4, I have shifted gears. Now, I plan on staying up for about 30 hours, then going to bed, finally, about 10 pm today. That way, I can sleep in and still be awake by 9 or 10am Wednesday. Yup - screw getting up early, I'll stay up really late then come out the other side.
When I get really tired my stomach gets really irritated, I can't eat, my joints stiffen, and my head gets cloudy...yet I need to funciton all day. This may turn out interesting: if I go out for Boston Market and fall asleep in a chicken, or nod off while pedaling a bike, or doze on a sidewalk, I'll let you know.
Posted by Chris at August 3, 2004 10:49 AMI failed miserably in my body clock resetting yesterday, but today things are looking good. I've been up just over 25 hours now, thanks to the electric asskick of a gallon and half of Wawa iced tea spaced throughout the day and the distraction of a boatload of new movies (broadband is almost enough ot make me religious). I'm starting to crash, so by about 9 I'll take some sleeping pills, just for insurance, and hopefully get 11-12 hours of sleep, yet still get up at about 9. This is strategy, folks.
Posted by: Chris at August 4, 2004 07:17 PMOh, also, because of the no-sleep thing my stomach is a mess. I'm to the point now where I can only eat ice cream and drink water. Whoopee.
Posted by: Chris at August 4, 2004 07:18 PMSo, how'd that whole sleep deprivation thing work out for you?
Posted by: fatboy at August 6, 2004 10:30 AMFucking golden. I stayed up about 30 hours, and then slept for about 9...this got me up at 7 am, and I felt like I'd slept for a week. I'm back on a respectable human's schedule.
