Nate's boys are apt swimmers. It looks like I'm gonna be a daddy. Pat we'll have to wrestle for the name....
Posted by Nate at July 28, 2004 04:13 PMCongratulations, Nathan. If it is a boy, I would like to suggest the name Colin.
Posted by: John at July 28, 2004 04:20 PMHow about Ricky? Middle name Williams? Sure you'd love that.
Big congratulations though.
Posted by: Pat at July 28, 2004 04:41 PMCongrats! I say you should call up websites and have them pay you $10,000 name your kid "eBay" or "Yahoo!". That would rule. For about 5 minutes.
Posted by: Rick at July 28, 2004 04:43 PMThat's awesome. I can't wait to be "Uncle Chris," showing the boy (it better be a boy) all about cigars, lapdances (not from me), and the proper way to pour a fine Stout...somewhere around his ninth birthday. I'm also gonna make him a Patriots fan, just for you.
If it's a girl (it better not be a girl...you can't watch football with a girl) you must name her Meg, so every time I see her I can go "Hey, Meg, eighteen yet?" and you can stab me with a knife.
Damn. Nate's having a kid. Congratulations.
Posted by: Chris at July 28, 2004 04:48 PMcongratulations! i guess some people actually are growing up!!
Posted by: michelle at July 28, 2004 05:42 PMCongratulations, Nate. That's good news. As the only current father on the site, I can tell you that you'll enjoy it. Even if it is a girl.
Posted by: Fatboy at July 28, 2004 06:00 PMThanks guys
Hopefully my little experience as a step-dad will help some, but I'm still pretty nervous. And if it's a girl, McCreary won't be allowed around her until she's 20, because then she'll be too old for him.
Posted by: Nate at July 28, 2004 06:07 PMCongratulations Nate! As for the boy-girl debate, ten fingers and ten toes will suffice I'm sure, though I also like the idea of naming your child after the Secretary of State, regardless of gender.
