Okay, I don't deserve Nerd of the Year award. I just now found out about a cell phone service that's been out for six months now, MobiTV. It's a service for Sprint PCS phones that lets you watch TV on your cell phone. So, I got it. The video quality's kind of bad- only about one frame every 2 or 3 seconds, but it's still good enough to know what's going on, and it is pretty damned cool to be able to watch the Discovery Channel no matter where I am. And they've got TLC, too. Oh yeah, and some news channels, sports cannels, and music channels.

No, no it's not. It's pretty damn cool to watch, say, the Super Bowl while you should be working. Or porn in church. That's fine; you go on "educating" yourself and enjoying your "brain."
It wold be nice to catch some cartoons on the fly, though.
Posted by: Chris at May 30, 2004 02:42 PMYeah, they only have one cartoon channel, devoted to "classic" cartoons, read old. So it's not really very good, since those were so dependent on visuals, and not on dialog.
I showed the phone TV to Alex Friday night, and she was completely unimpressed. She asked me if it had cartoons, and when I said no (I figured she wouldn't want to watch the classic cartoons), she just said, "Oh," and then went back to coloring.
