Rhea County, TN's commissioners have voted unanimously to allow homosexuals to be prosecuted under a "crimes against nature" statute. And, with the compasionate declaration of "we need to keep them out of here", the official also wants to ban gays from living in the county as well. This is the same county that prosecuted teachers for claiming "evolution" was a real thing.
I guess their next step will be to pass Prop 243 - Creation of the Office of Slant-Eye removal, and HR4398 - the chasing out of town of those damned coloreds. Fuck Tennessee. Volunteers suck, Titans suck, Country Music Sucks.

"Moochin' war widows!"
Posted by: Pat at March 18, 2004 10:35 AMIt's hard to believe that kind of places that still exist in the United States. Then again, our President believes that, to paraphrase, the jury is still out on evolution. That isn't anything terribly novel amongst politicians however. Be it homosexuality or race (here is a Washington Post article article by a UMD student which I am sure some of you have read) some places just aren't as progressive.
Posted by: John at March 18, 2004 10:47 AMThat's an interesting article, John. I remember one of my first nights hanging out here in Texas. I sat down at the bar, next to a black guy that was busy talking to the white guy next to him. After the black guy got up to leave, the white guy turned to me and said, "I can't stand those fuckin' niggers." I just looked at him, then turned back to drinking my beer and didn't talk to him for the rest of the night. But there are still plenty of racists here in the south. And bible thumpers, and homophobics, and all types of backwards thinkers. But, there are some normal people, too.
Posted by: Fatboy at March 18, 2004 03:05 PMYeah, that was a neat article. When we were in ATL, I remember thinking it must be hard to be a minority down there. Not that I saw anything overt, but you didn't see many white people talking to/hanging out with blacks.
