How 'bout them Terps!!

What a game. Masterful performance by one Jamar Smith -- I have to give it up to John for standing behind his boy, he held Sean May in check, and just ran the offense really well. Mike Jones was solid in his 9 minute contribution and that incredible one touch pass. Obviously Gilchrist is awesome, and lucky for us, we get to see 2 1/2 more years of Caner-Medley.

These games are making my hairline recede (more) and are driving me to drink (more), but somehow it is all worth it. It was Rick, Chad and I gulping down beer, screaming at the tv, Chad taking his shirt off on occasion to display his disgust with the game. The morning headache, and wondering why my mouth tastes like crap are small prices to pay. Usually when we feel this way, we lose, so I am glad we bucked that trend. We will see how Saturday night at Georgia Tech goes.

Enough of my ramblings about the game last night. Read the recap yourself. Discuss amongst yourselves.

Just to clarify, I still had an undershirt on after I threw my "outer shirt" at the TV. And yes, the fact I have to clarify that is absurd.

Oh - and howabout the damn retard at the end of the game that went across the baseline? Hello! (Herman Edwards voice)

Go Spret. My boy Jamar's free throw shooting mystifies me because it looks fairly sound form wise. And no assists last night, though after having 9 all of last year, he has 17 already. If Ibekwe can stay out of foul trouble and Gilchrist can try having more assists than turnovers, then maybe they can go .500 in the ACC. Not to let optimism run rampant, but its nice to enjoy last night's game, if only for a little while.

Smith had a big night but the player of the game was Gilchrist. Remember that feeling when Blake fouled out and Nicholas would have to guard and bring the ball up against Jayson Williams? That's the feeling I get when Gilchrist isn't on the floor. Maybe I'm not giving Strawberry (by the way, he needs a nickname) enough credit, but he's a freshman and that makes me nervous. And I'm still wondering why NC called off that press in the second half...

I am just glad we didn't lose by 2, because then I would be crucifying Ibekwe for that technical foul he got (gotta be smarter than that). They actually shot 71.4% from the line, but it is the timing on the missed shots that has to be corrected. Smith occasionally takes an ill advised shot, but he has shed the "Stockton" label...for now.

And check this out...remember "The Jolly Lean Giant" Matt Slaninka? Of course not, but he plays at Shepherd now. Good stuff

Could he have Biggie Smalls music as his entrance jam?

Isn't DJ a nickname already?

...and 5 other ranked teams lost to unranked opponents, so we should have a little number preceding our name next week. Which really means nothing, since as long as you're in the top 64 you're okay.
