a high school coach is worried that his quarterback has been drinking, and wants to dissuade his players from such dangerous behavior. he calls his players around and takes a glass of water and a glass of grain alcohol. he says, "i'm going to put a worm in each one of these and i want you to watch what happens". the players watch intently as worm in the water moves around easily, but the worm in the alcohol dies shortly. the coach turns to the quarterback and asks "what does this tell us about the effects of alcohol?" to which the quarterback responds "if we drink alcohol, we won't get worms"
