"Rum Diary" is soon to become a movie, praise Allah.
Fear and Loathing was, and is, one of the best things ever committed to video...since Depp will play Thompson again, at least part of "Rum Diary" is guaranteed to work. Gilliam isn't directing - del Toro is - but then, "Rum Diary" isn't the type of story that necessitates Gilliam's style, as FaL was.
And no, "Rum Diary" is not about a magical summer Roy is planning for '05.

Dear Diary,
Tonight, for Halloween I went out in Fells Point dressed as a dog. It was hot. Apparently I left my dignity in my other pants. We went into a bar and ordered a shot of rum. They served us a shot of hairspray and I almost blarney-ed all over the bar. Tragically, I did not hump anyone's leg. Perhaps I should have given it a shot. There is always next year when I will dress as a polar bear/cow/abominable snowman/guy in white furry suit.
