The 2003 Ig Nobel prizes have been awarded. Some of the better research subjects include:

Interdisciplinary Research: Chickens Prefer Beautiful Humans

Biology: The First Case of Homosexual Necrophilia in the Mallard Anas platyrhynchos (Aves: Anatidae)

The nature of things posted on this website is amazing. From hitting people on bicycles with golf balls to scientific research that is stupid. I hope the government isn't funding any of these things. I suspect that is wishful thinking.

Check out the Peeps research if you haven't already. It's scary how accurately scientific methods were applied. It's also amusing. (I have no idea what the link is.)
